Koi Chinese and Sushi Restaurant:
Neighborhood Restaurant Holds Tsunami Fundraiser
Evanston, IL–In the wake
of the devastating Indian Ocean Tsunami, an outpouring
of aid from communities and organizations all around
the world came to the assistance of the 12 nations affected
by the tragedy.
Nearly a month since the deadly tidal waves ravished
coastal villages in Southeast Asia, hundreds of families
have lost their entire livelihoods and are now taking
their first steps toward a new life.
To continue supporting relief efforts, Koi Chinese and
Sushi Restaurant owners Robert LaPata and Bing Zhou
have decided to close their cash registers and open
their doors at 624 Davis St. in Evanston, Ill. on Thursday,
Feb. 3 for an evening dedicated to the tsunami victims.
All proceeds–100
percent– collected at the fundraiser will go to
the American Red Cross International Response Fund.
Each guest is being asked to contribute a minimum donation
of $50.
The night’s festivities will include live music,
hors d’oeuvres, sushi and an open bar. The soiree
will kick off at 6 pm and last until 9 pm.
